How to Start an Essay
Best essay writers always start with a catchy introduction. This part should always prepare your audience to read your main story. Start with a philosophical account of why you think assisting others is important, then go ahead to start narrating what you did to someone that helped them to resolve their problem.
Doing good things for others is the vocation of every human being on Earth. Since the creation of the universe, man has always had the responsibility to help others. Even if you don't believe in the existence of a supernatural force, it is common knowledge that someday you will need assistance from other people. Therefore, you should endeavor to do good now because of what you may be facing tomorrow. If you end up in a difficult situation, you will call for assistance from another person who may not even be your friend or family. Whenever we help others, we feel good. We gain a feeling of happiness and satisfaction as well as experience a surge of purposefulness and energy boost inside us. Having lived over 30 years, I perfectly understand that there are many reasons to try and assist other people when we encounter such an opportunity.
My life in college was great and smooth because of the peace of mind and the fulfillment I got from doing charity work. As a member of a small Christian community at my University, we used to organize a lot of visits to orphanages, hospitals and the surrounding community. I was in charge of the organizing team for the four years I was in college. At the start of every semester, each member of our group used to contribute some money. We used our savings to pay for our trips, buy washing materials and gifts to take to the charity homes. Our responsibilities entailed cooking for the kids, washing some of them who couldn't help themselves as well as cleaning their clothes, classrooms and dormitories. In the afternoons, we could arrange a number of child-friendly sports such as running, hide-and-seek, football and merry-go-round.
How to Write the Body of an Essay
Basically, the body should be a continuation of events that you did while helping others. Give a further description of the activities that you did. You can include the reasons that you continue doing the work despite the challenges. You can describe some friends that you made as well as explain the benefits that you gained during your charity work.
Body Paragraphs Example
In most charity homes that we went to, we found out the facilities were never enough to accommodate all the children, and as such, most of the caretakers were requesting that we talk to our parents concerning the possibility of adopting the children who were orphaned. Personally, I so much wished to have taken some of them into my custody, but the challenge is that I was still at school. I couldn't take them home because my family was experiencing financial tough-times and couldn't take care of any of the children accordingly. All the same, I promised myself to help one of the kids after I would finish college. In my mind, I had these two boys. The two boys touched my life because they actually had no family members. They practically knew no one. Out of the compassion and sympathy that I had for the boys, I went back for them after I finished college in 2009. We've been living together for the last nine years. I consider the two brothers as part of my family, and I always feel happy to be with them.
Dedicating time and the little resources that I had to help others has changed my life in so many ways. It has changed how I see people. Feeding the homeless children in the streets made merealize how lucky I was to have a home and a family to go back to after school. I came to realize that every child longed to have a happy life that comes with being with their parents. All of them wished that they could have the opportunity to learn in good schools and eat proper meals.
How to Conclude Your Essay
After narrating what you did to help others, you should give your audience a brief summary that should carry the moral of your story. Let your readership understand that it is not a must for one to be rich in order to help others. You just need to have the heart and the will to help the person next to you. It can be materially, by listening to them or simply by giving them pieces of advice. Finally, since assisting others is the responsibility of every human being, give a call to action to others who may be thinking that helping others is of no good use.
By participating in charity programs, I have learned that my greatest happiness comes from listening and helping the humble. I always share with others even if what I have is very little. By sharing, I get to work even harder since I know that I don't just work to raise my income alone, but I also work for the sake of the disadvantaged. You too can make a difference in your life byhelping others. You don't need to overwork yourself and give out almost everything that you have. Just give out a little to a deserving person.
